Clothing requires extra preparation before piecing can even begin. Each garment is individually deconstructed, stabilized, and precision cut before it can be sewn into a traditional quilt pattern. Because these pieces are sentimental and often irreplaceable, every step is handled carefully and intentionally. 

Once your quilt is booked, you’ll receive instructions for preparing and shipping your clothing. After your clothing arrives, I carefully deconstruct, stabilize, cut, and piece it into your selected quilt pattern. Your quilt is then quilted, finished, and prepared to come home to you. 

Each quilt pattern has its own recommended and maximum number of clothing pieces included. Please refer to the Info page for each quilt pattern, as the amount and type of clothing needed can vary by design. If you have fewer pieces than recommended, I may still be able to work with what you have. Feel free to reach out by email and I’d be happy to take a look with you.

I’d be honored! Memory quilts are not limited to baby clothing. Adult clothing and garments from a loved one can also be transformed into an heirloom as well. 

A 50% deposit is required to reserve your quilt, including a $150 non-refundable booking fee. Once you review and approve your quilt layout, the remaining balance is due before I begin piecing your quilt.

If you cancel before any clothing has been cut, your deposit may be refunded minus the $150 non-refundable booking fee. You are responsible for the cost of having your clothing shipped back to you. 

Once any clothing has been cut, the full deposit becomes non-refundable, and you are still responsible for return shipping of any remaining clothing and materials. 

I pair your clothing with high quality 100% quilting cotton, 100% cotton batting (the soft layer in between), and 100% cotton backing fabric that complements the finished quilt. I choose materials with softness, durability, and longevity in mind. 

Upgraded backing fabrics and other custom details may be available for an additional charge. I’m happy to talk through ideas and provide pricing before anything is added. 

Your estimated turnaround time will be provided when you book. Timing may vary depending on the quilt design, current production schedule, and quilting timeline. 

Clothing from siblings can be combined into one quilt. If you want certain pieces grouped, balanced, or identified by child, please let me know before shipping.

Yes. If there are garments, graphics, embroidery, pockets, or other details that are especially meaningful to you, let me know and I’ll do my best to prioritize them. Final placement depends on the usable fabric available and the needs of the pattern. 

Yes! You’ll receive a photo of your quilt layout before it’s pieced together so you can review it first. We will be in touch by email throughout the process!
