Terms of Service

These Terms of Service apply to purchases made through Kalina Home. By placing an order, submitting clothing, or using this website, you agree to these terms as well as the Return and Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and Privacy Policy.

Custom and Handmade Products

Kalina Home creates custom, handcrafted keepsakes using customer-provided clothing. Because every item is individually made, the finished product will be unique.

Quilt sizes and measurements are approximate. Small variations in dimensions, stitching, fabric placement, pattern alignment, texture, and color are natural parts of handmade work and are not considered defects.

Customer-Provided Clothing

You confirm that you own or have permission to submit all clothing and materials provided to Kalina Home.

By sending clothing, you understand and agree that it will be permanently cut, stabilized, sewn, and altered during production. Once an item has been cut or altered, it cannot be restored to its original condition.

Clothing should arrive clean and free from excessive pet hair, smoke, mold, pests, strong odors, bodily fluids, or other unsafe substances. Kalina Home may decline or return materials that are unsafe or unsuitable to handle. Additional cleaning may only be performed with customer approval.

Not every submitted item or every portion of an item can be guaranteed for use. Fabric condition, size, design, stretch, thickness, embellishments, and overall suitability will determine what can be included. Areas containing zippers, buttons, grommets, gems, sequins, or other hard embellishments will not be used. Kalina Home has final discretion regarding whether a material can be safely incorporated.

Submitting more clothing does not guarantee that every item will be used. Any fees for additional clothing apply only when the additional piece is cut, stabilized, and incorporated into the quilt.

Design and Placement

Customers may share preferences and identify meaningful clothing pieces they would especially like featured. Kalina Home will make every reasonable effort to honor those requests when the size, condition, and design of the clothing allow.

Final fabric placement, cutting choices, color balance, and layout decisions remain at the discretion of Kalina Home to protect the quality and structure of the finished piece.

Booking, Deposits, and Payment

A 50% deposit is required to reserve a booking. Of that deposit, $150 is nonrefundable.

If an order is canceled before clothing processing begins, the remaining portion of the deposit may be refunded. Once sorting, planning, cutting, stabilizing, designing, or other production work begins, the full deposit becomes nonrefundable.

If Kalina Home has already received your clothing when you cancel, you are responsible for the cost of shipping it back to you. Return shipping must be paid before the clothing is mailed and is nonrefundable.

Final payment is due after finished photos are provided and approved and before the completed order is shipped.

Clothing Arrival Deadlines

Customers are responsible for shipping their clothing by the deadline provided for their booking. Missing this deadline may delay production, change the estimated ship date, or require the booking to be moved to a later production period.

Kalina Home is not responsible for delays caused by clothing arriving late, incomplete customer information, delayed approvals, unpaid balances, or circumstances outside reasonable control.

Production and Completion Dates

Production and ship dates are estimates rather than guarantees. Kalina Home will make reasonable efforts to meet the estimated timeline and will communicate if a significant delay occurs.

Turnaround times may be affected by the complexity of an order, material condition, customer response time, supply availability, illness, equipment issues, carrier delays, or other circumstances outside reasonable control.

Finished-Photo Approval

Customers will receive finished photos before the final payment is collected and the order is shipped. Approval confirms acceptance of the visible design, layout, and overall appearance of the finished product.

Screen settings, lighting, and photography may cause colors to appear slightly different from the physical product.

Shipping

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address. Kalina Home is not responsible for delays or additional costs caused by an incorrect or incomplete address.

Shipping timelines are estimates and may be affected by the carrier. Please review the Shipping Policy for additional details regarding delivery, damage, loss, and available signature confirmation.

Returns and Refunds

Completed custom products are final sale and are not eligible for returns or exchanges. Cancellations, damaged orders, errors, and any approved refunds are handled according to the Kalina Home Return and Refund Policy.

Website Content

All website content, branding, logos, photographs, written material, graphics, product designs, and other original content belonging to Kalina Home may not be copied, reproduced, sold, or used for commercial purposes without written permission.

Prohibited Use

You may not use this website or its content for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, harmful, or unauthorized commercial purposes. You may not attempt to interfere with the website’s operation, security, or availability.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kalina Home will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from the use of this website or the purchase of a product.

Kalina Home’s total liability relating to an order will not exceed the amount paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited under applicable law.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Utah and applicable United States law.

Changes to These Terms

Kalina Home may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The terms in effect when an order is placed will apply to that order unless otherwise required by law.
